J'avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 rencontr\u00e9 Pseudagrion kersteni en 2008 au B\u00e9nin<\/a>. Il est facile \u00e0 identifier pour peu qu'on parvienne sur les photos \u00e0 apercevoir ses appendices anaux caract\u00e9ristiques qui forment une ba\u00efonnette de profil qu'on voit bien en contre-jour ci-dessous. Et heureusement, car il y a environ 140 Pseudagrion dans le monde dont une centaine en Afrique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il mesure en moyenne 37 mm et m\u00e9rite son nom de Powder-faced Sprite :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il fr\u00e9quente les herbes ou les carex des rives des ruisseaux ou des rivi\u00e8res et c'est dans cette situation que je l'ai trouv\u00e9 au bord de la rivi\u00e8re qui traverse Jinka, \u00e0 la limite du Parc National de l'Omo, tout au sud de l'\u00c9thiopie. Un endroit r\u00e9pugnant de salet\u00e9 et d'odeurs puisque les locaux consid\u00e8rent apparemment cette rivi\u00e8re comme leurs toilettes.
C'\u00e9tait la seule esp\u00e8ce pr\u00e9sente avec 7 ou 8 individus, tous m\u00e2les.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ci-dessus le sujet de droite est certainement \u00e2g\u00e9 et on constate que ses taches postoculaires ne sont plus visibles, masqu\u00e9es par la pruine.
On le rencontre depuis l'Afrique du Sud jusqu'aux Guin\u00e9e \u00e0 l'Ouest et au Y\u00e9men \u00e0 l'Est, l'\u00c9thiopie constituant pratiquement la limite nord de sa r\u00e9partition.
