C’\u00e9tait aussi Orthetrum chrysostigma femelle que j’avais rencontr\u00e9e en Afrique du Sud<\/a>, mais une tr\u00e8s jeune. Celle-ci est bien vieillie, l’abdomen portant un peu de pruine blanch\u00e2tre, et ses ailes d\u00e9chir\u00e9es qui t\u00e9moignent que sa vie n’a pas toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 facile. On reconnait facilement l’unique bande lat\u00e9rale thoracique claire qui permet d’identifier l’esp\u00e8ce.
Les yeux parsem\u00e9s de pseudo-pupilles sont spectaculaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai observ\u00e9 cette unique femelle dans un village Mursi tr\u00e8s isol\u00e9, une zone semi-d\u00e9sertique<\/a>, \u00e0 658 m d’altitude, \u00e0 une vingtaine de kilom\u00e8tres de l’Omo, \u00e0 l’extr\u00eame sud-ouest de l’\u00c9thiopie et je n’ai vu aucun point d’eau \u00e0 proximit\u00e9.
Orthetrum chrysostigma mesure environ 65 mm. Il est tr\u00e8s largement distribu\u00e9 dans toute l’Afrique, et atteint au nord l’Espagne, \u00e0 l’ouest et le Moyen-Orient… \u00e0 l’est.
IUCN Red List<\/a>

Il se plait en principe sur les ruisseaux ou les rivi\u00e8res, mais quand comme ici, tout est sec, il accepte les eaux stagnantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
