On en compte jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 30.000 chez les Aeshnidae (Anax junius a exactement 28,672 ommatidies dans chaque \u0153il \u00e0 maturit\u00e9\u202f; Land and Nilsson 2002) ce qui constitue le record pour le monde des insectes(1). Mais il ne s&rsquo;agit en aucun cas d&rsquo;une v\u00e9ritable pupille au sens du diaphragme de l\u2019\u0153il des mammif\u00e8res.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><u><strong>Vision des couleurs<\/strong><\/u><\/span><br \/>On a longtemps dout\u00e9 que les odonates aient une vision en couleur, mais ils laissent tr\u00e8s loin derri\u00e8re notre vision trichromatique bas\u00e9e sur l&rsquo;expression de 3 g\u00e8nes codant 3 opsines (prot\u00e9ines r\u00e9agissant \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie lumineuse) ; les odonates en poss\u00e8dent de 15 \u00e0 33, 20 par exemple pour le Sympetrum frequens, dont 16 opsines destin\u00e9es \u00e0 la perception des couleurs. Ces opsines sont sp\u00e9cifiquement sensibles, chacune, a une certaine fourchette de longueurs d&rsquo;ondes, certaines sensibles aux ondes courtes (SW), d&rsquo;autres aux ondes longues (LW). <br \/>Anax parthenope fait partie des champions puisqu&rsquo;il compte 33 g\u00e8nes pour coder les opsines dont 8 pour les courtes longueurs d&rsquo;ondes et 21 pour les longues, et bien s\u00fbr tous les odonates \u00ab\u00a0voient\u00a0\u00bb les UV et le plan de polarisation de la lumi\u00e8re, ce dernier \u00e9l\u00e9ment joue certainement une part importante dans le contr\u00f4le du vol (2). <br \/>Les odonates voient donc parfaitement les couleurs, bien mieux que nous, et ils poss\u00e8dent des r\u00e9cepteurs sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s pour les analyser tr\u00e8s finement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><u><strong>Sp\u00e9cialisation r\u00e9gionale des yeux<\/strong><\/u><\/span><br \/>Comme on le voit tr\u00e8s bien sur la photo ci-dessous (en cliquant &#8230;) les ommatidies ne sont pas de la m\u00eame taille sur toute la surface de l\u2019\u0153il. Elles sont plus larges sur la partie sup\u00e9rieure de l\u2019\u0153il, \u00e0 peine discernables sur la partie inf\u00e9rieure. Ainsi, pour les anisopt\u00e8res, on note une forte expression des g\u00e8nes codant les opsines pour les ondes courtes (SW) et tr\u00e8s peu pour les ondes longues (LW) dans la partie sup\u00e9rieure de l\u2019\u0153il. L&rsquo;inverse est vrai pour la partie inf\u00e9rieure.<br><br>On peut, comme l&rsquo;ont fait les auteurs du document (2) trouver une justification \u00e9cologique et comportementale \u00e0 cette r\u00e9partition\u202f; la lumi\u00e8re solaire venant d&rsquo;en haut est de forte intensit\u00e9 et biais\u00e9e vers les longues ondes, la lumi\u00e8re de l&rsquo;environnement, venant d&rsquo;en bas, r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie, tend \u00e0 \u00eatre de plus faible intensit\u00e9 et d\u00e9port\u00e9e vers les longues ondes.<br>Cela correspond parfaitement aux conditions rencontr\u00e9es par un anisopt\u00e8re perch\u00e9 sur le bord d&rsquo;un \u00e9tang qui surveille son petit territoire en explorant et surveillant vers l&rsquo;avant et le bas, d&rsquo;o\u00f9 provient la lumi\u00e8re r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie, et scrutant (en m\u00eame temps\u202f!) le ciel pour y d\u00e9celer d&rsquo;\u00e9ventuelles proies (ou pr\u00e9dateurs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">Enfin, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 montr\u00e9 (3) que le bord sup\u00e9rieur de l\u2019\u0153il comportait une r\u00e9gion sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans le traitement de la lumi\u00e8re polaris\u00e9e et cette zone intervient certainement dans le contr\u00f4le de la navigation de l&rsquo;insecte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"> -1 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s13127-012-0090-6\">All the better to see you with: a review of odonate color vision with transcriptomic insight into the odonate eye<\/a>, Org Divers Evol (2012) 12:241\u2013250. <br>-2- <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pnas.org\/doi\/10.1073\/pnas.1424670112\">Extraordinary diversity of visual opsin genes in dragonflies<\/a>, Futahashi et al., 2015.<br>-3-  Meyer, E.P. &amp; Labhart, T.
