J’ai encore une fois \u00e9t\u00e9 tromp\u00e9 par cet Argia oculata que j’ai tout d’abord appel\u00e9 A. popoluca. Cependant, l’absence de tache bleue isol\u00e9e sur le pronotum m’a interpell\u00e9.

Le motif port\u00e9 par le S2 et les 3 derniers segments bleus sur leur face sup\u00e9rieure se rencontrent pour plusieurs esp\u00e8ces, et je rappelle qu’il y a 53 esp\u00e8ces d’Argia au Mexique.
Mais il semble beaucoup moins commun de trouver pour Argia oculata de tels motifs abdominaux pour les segments 4 \u00e0 6 ; si le S3 est presque conforme, la marque bleue du S4 est souvent tr\u00e8s courte et celle des deux autres segments r\u00e9duite \u00e0 un simple anneau comme on peut le voir sur cette photo au Panama<\/a>. La teinte de bleue est aussi bien diff\u00e9rente. Et il est effectivement connu pour \u00eatre variable en taille, 30 \u00e0 40 mm, dans sa coloration et dans la r\u00e9partition des taches bleues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il se trouvait au soleil en limite d’une for\u00eat dans laquelle coule un ruisseau ou une petite rivi\u00e8re qui traverse le site arch\u00e9ologique de Palenque.
On le rencontre du Mexique, au P\u00e9rou et au Br\u00e9sil et si je l’avais rencontr\u00e9 au Panama,<\/a> je l’ai aussi photographi\u00e9 au Costa Rica<\/a> voisin et en Colombie<\/a>.
