Une vraie bonne surprise de rencontrer Heteragrion alienum, Heteragrionidae, apr\u00e8s toutes ces esp\u00e8ces communes et d\u00e9j\u00e0 contact\u00e9es plusieurs fois pour la plupart.
Les femelles sont certainement moins spectaculaires que les m\u00e2les, mais celle-ci s’est av\u00e9r\u00e9e fort patiente et j’ai pu rester un quart d’heure \u00e0 la photographier ; un ou deux envols et elle est gentiment revenue se poser sur le m\u00eame support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle se trouvait en bordure d’un chemin forestier, dans une petite place lumineuse, mais non vraiment ensoleill\u00e9e. Une petite rivi\u00e8re rapide qui prend par endroits des allures de petit torrent circulait \u00e0 quelques dizaines de m\u00e8tres.
Il y a actuellement 62 Heteragrion (1) mais heureusement<\/em> seulement 4 au Mexique, 3 dans la province du Chiapas et c’est un peu par \u00e9limination que j’ai propos\u00e9 l’identification H. alienum. Par chance, celle-ci a \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9e par E. Gonzalez Soriano qui conna\u00eet bien l’esp\u00e8ce puisqu’il en a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le comportement (2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parmi ces trois esp\u00e8ces du Chiapas, H. albifrons femelle est plus rouge, H. tricellulare femelle est plus jaune, seule Heteragrion alienum femelle est assez terne.
On le rencontre \u00e0 l’est du Mexique, au Guatemala et au Honduras.

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong><\/span>
Selys d\u00e9crit le genre\u00a0Heteragrion<\/strong>\u00a0dans sa \u00ab\u00a0R\u00e9vision du Synopsis des Agrionines, premi\u00e8re partie, p 54\u00a0\u00bb mais il ne donne pas d\u2019indication sur l\u2019origine du nom. Ce genre vient \u00e0 la suite d\u2019autre genre qu\u2019il cr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019occasion, Megapodagrion et Heteropodagrion.
Il est construit \u00e0 partir du grec\u00a0hetero<\/em>\u00a0qui signifie\u00a0autre<\/em>, et de\u00a0agrion<\/em>, du grec\u00a0agrios<\/em>\u2013\u00a0sauvage<\/em>, vivant dans les champs. Il faut sans doute y voir tout simplement \u00ab\u00a0un autre agrion<\/em> \u00ab\u00a0, en plus des deux pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents.
Alienum, du latin alienus<\/em>, pour \u00e9tranger, qui appartient aux autres<\/em>, peut-\u00eatre parce que, comme l’explique Williamson, H. alienum est rest\u00e9e longtemps confondu avec H. chrysops alors qu’il appartenait \u00e0 une autre esp\u00e8ce (3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
