Macrothemis inacuta m\u00e2le, Mexique, Palenque (Chiapas), 29\/10\/2019<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Il est facile de deviner que c’est ma seule photo de cette esp\u00e8ce… que je n’aurais sans doute pas pu identifier (10 Macrothemis au Mexique) sans l’aide de J\u00fcrg Demarmels. Son nom anglais, Straw-colored sylph, souligne sa coloration jaune.

J’ai observ\u00e9 ce m\u00e2le Macrothemis inacuta sur le rio Chacamax, une petite rivi\u00e8re au fond tapiss\u00e9 de galets\u202f; il faisait des allers-retours \u00e0 une dizaine de m\u00e8tres de moi et \u00e0 3 m\u00e8tres au-dessus du milieu du rio et je pense qu’il se nourrissait en vol, comme sont r\u00e9put\u00e9s le faire les m\u00e2les de l’esp\u00e8ce. Il a un aspect tr\u00e8s \u00e9lanc\u00e9, mais ne mesure pourtant que 39 \u00e0 42 mm.

L’esp\u00e8ce se plait sur les eaux claires des ruisseaux et rivi\u00e8res au fond rocheux et se rencontre depuis le sud de l’Arizona et du Texas, jusqu’au Br\u00e9sil et Venezuela.
