Son nom anglais, Straw-colored sylph, souligne sa coloration jaune.<br><br>J'ai observ\u00e9 ce m\u00e2le  Macrothemis inacuta sur le rio Chacamax, une petite rivi\u00e8re au fond tapiss\u00e9 de galets\u202f; il faisait des allers-retours \u00e0 une dizaine de m\u00e8tres de moi et \u00e0 3 m\u00e8tres au-dessus du milieu du rio et je pense qu'il se nourrissait en vol, comme sont r\u00e9put\u00e9s le faire les m\u00e2les de l'esp\u00e8ce.
