C'est encore sur le petit bassin d'un lodge, avant l'orage, que j'ai eu le plaisir de d\u00e9couvrir Micrathyria hagenii, une nouvelle esp\u00e8ce pour moi. Le genre Micrathyria est un r\u00e9gal pour ceux qui aiment les couleurs que peuvent prendre les yeux des libellules...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C'est un des dix Micrathyria du Mexique, un des cinq du Yucat\u00e1n (avec aequalis, debilis, didyma et ocellata, ce dernier \u00e9tant lpus ou moins suspect).
Il mesure 33 \u00e0 35 mm.
Il est assez facile \u00e0 diff\u00e9rencier de ses cong\u00e9n\u00e8res du Yucat\u00e1n par son motif thoracique \u00e9largi en bas, sous l'aile ant\u00e9rieure et aussi ce \"X\" aplati form\u00e9 de lignes claires non connect\u00e9es aux lat\u00e9rales, au sommet de son thorax, comme on le voit tr\u00e8s bien sur la photo ci-dessus ou ci-dessous (ce \"X\" est cependant bien pr\u00e9sent pour d'autres Micrathyria, hors du Yucatan, comme on pourra le v\u00e9rifier ici).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On le rencontre sur les mares et marais, dans les parties ouvertes, m\u00eame les mares temporaires cr\u00e9\u00e9es par les pluies.
Son aire de distribution s'\u00e9tend de l'Arizona et Texas jusqu'au Panama.

Il aime se percher au sommet des rameaux ou des feuilles et se positionne fr\u00e9quemment les ailes plus basses que le thorax. La copulation est br\u00e8ve, en vol et la ponte s'ensuit aussit\u00f4t.
En anglais, il prend le nom de Thornbush dasher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/span><\/strong>
Micrathyria(1)<\/strong>, du grec micra<\/em> pour petit<\/em> et de thyr\u00e0<\/em>, pour porte<\/em> ou ouverture<\/em>. Le nom pourrait faire r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la petite taille de l'esp\u00e8ce type et au fait qu'elle n'a \"pas de nervures supratriangulaires\" sur les ailes ant\u00e9rieures et post\u00e9rieures (d'o\u00f9 la notion d'ouverture).
Hagenii<\/strong> est un hommage \u00e0 Hermann A. Hagen, odonatologue germano-am\u00e9ricain, \u00e0 qui l'on doit, entre autres, un premier recueil des neuropt\u00e8res nord-am\u00e9ricains. Il a d\u00e9crit de nombreuses esp\u00e8ces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
