Le genre Cryptophaea (Euphaeidae) a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 2003 par H\u00e4m\u00e4l\u00e4inen\u00a0(H\u00e4m\u00e4l\u00e4inen – Cryptophaea gen. nov. and new taxa from Thailand. Zool. Med. Leiden 77 (2003)) et ne contient que trois esp\u00e8ces dont Cryptophaea vietnamensis. Il explique que le nom de genre vient du grec\u00a0kryptos<\/em>\u00a0signifiant\u00a0cach\u00e9<\/em>,\u00a0car ce sont des insectes vivant retir\u00e9s dans les ruisseaux ombrag\u00e9s des pentes de montagne.
Le nom d’esp\u00e8ce provient lui de la description d’un sujet issu du centre du Vietnam, d’ailleurs sous le nom de genre initial de Bayadera (van Tol& Rozendaal 1995).
Nous l’avons rencontr\u00e9 6 jours sur les 13 jours de prospection.\u00a0

Il mesure, \u00e0 mon avis, moins de 40 mm.
Noter sur la photo ci-dessous que les ailes ant\u00e9rieures sont plus longues que les post\u00e9rieures.

Il n’est pas si fr\u00e9quent que les femelles des zygopt\u00e8res soient aussi spectaculaires que les m\u00e2les, mais c’est le cas pour ces femelles dont les couleurs orange et jaunes flashent dans le sous-bois o\u00f9 les photos sont faites obligatoirement au flash…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les femelles sont dot\u00e9es d’un\u00a0ovipositeur massif dot\u00e9 d’un puissant stylet\u00a0qui leur permet de pondre dans l’\u00e9corce des arbres, mais bien s\u00fbr, juste au bord de la rivi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
