Gomphus pulchellus \u00e0 beau \u00eatre commun en Maine et Loire ou ici en Loire Atlantique, je ne boude pas mon plaisir d’observer et de photographier un accouplement; ce n’est d’ailleurs que la 4\u00b0 fois depuis que je m’int\u00e9resse aux odonates que j’ai l’occasion de les immortaliser.
C’est aussi l’occasion de montrer un d\u00e9tail de la nervation des Gomphidae, d\u00e9tail partag\u00e9 aussi par les Aeshnidae et les Corduliidae (mais pas les Libellulidae, ni les Corduliidae); il s’agit de cet \u00e9paississement de la nervation au niveau, pour les Gomphidae, de la premi\u00e8re ant\u00e9nodale et de la 4\u00b0, 5\u00b0, 6\u00b0 ou 7\u00b0 ant\u00e9nodale.
Je n’ai jamais rien lu \u00e0 ce propos mais comme on note une tr\u00e8s forte ressemblance avec la nervure renforc\u00e9e du nodus on peut supposer qu’il s’agit ici aussi d’am\u00e9liorer les performances de l’aile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tous les Gomphidae que j’ai pu voir \u00e0 travers le monde montrent cet \u00e9paississement, m\u00eame les Chlorogomphidae.
Si on le rencontre aussi pour les Aeshnidae et les Cordulegasteridae il concerne toujours la premi\u00e8re ant\u00e9nodale mais la suivante est parfois au del\u00e0 de la 5\u00b0, par exemple souvent la 6\u00b0 pour Anax imperator<\/a>, la 6\u00b0 ou 7\u00b0 pour Aeshna grandis, la 7\u00b0 pour Hemianax epiphigger et Aeshna cyanea<\/a>, jusqu’\u00e0 la 8\u00b0 pour Cordulegaster boltonii<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il y a donc peu de variations entre les familles et la localisation de ce renforcement correspond peut-\u00eatre \u00e0 un artifice technique am\u00e9liorant les performances de l’aile.
Il serait donc int\u00e9ressant de savoir ou de comprendre pourquoi les 2 familles les plus r\u00e9centes des anisopt\u00e8res ont abandonn\u00e9 ces renforcements localis\u00e9s s’ils avaient une utilit\u00e9 et dans l’affirmative quelles astuces elles ont utilis\u00e9es pour s’en passer…<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Sur la suggestion de R\u00e9gis Krieg-Jacquier j’ai contact\u00e9 Andr\u00e9 Nel, pal\u00e9o-entomologiste au Mus\u00e9um Nationale d’Histoire Naturelle, qui m’a tr\u00e8s gentiment et aussit\u00f4t adress\u00e9 une r\u00e9ponse tr\u00e8s document\u00e9e.<\/em> J’\u00e9tais bien loin de savoir que j’avais mis le doigt sur un d\u00e9tail qui raconte l’histoire de l’\u00e9volution des libellules! <\/em>
J’en ferai donc une page d\u00e9di\u00e9e un peu plus tard.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
