Je fais tous les ans une ou deux visites \u00e0 cet \u00e9tang forestier (vraiment encercl\u00e9 d’arbres jusqu’\u00e0 l’eau), \u00e0 une centaine de kilom\u00e8tres de mon domicile, mais toujours dans mon d\u00e9partement ; on y trouve depuis 2012 une esp\u00e8ce qu’on ne s’attend pas \u00e0 y voir, Sympetrum danae qui ne s’observe normalement qu’en montagne (mais m\u00eame dans les montagnes bretonnes) ou dans le nord de la France.
Au mois de juillet il est un peu t\u00f4t pour les trouver mais heureusement le site est riche et les Ceriagrion tenellum y sont tr\u00e8s abondants.
C’est pourtant la premi\u00e8re fois que j’assiste \u00e0 cette sc\u00e8ne pour cette esp\u00e8ce.
La nature s’est-elle moqu\u00e9e des odonates quand elle a r\u00e9dig\u00e9 le cahier des charges \u00ab\u00a0reproduction\u00a0\u00bb : le sperme est fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 l’extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 de l’abdomen, 8\u00b0 et 9\u00b0 segments, alors pourquoi a-t-elle impos\u00e9 qu’il soit utilis\u00e9 sous le 2\u00b0 segment ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cependant le process est valid\u00e9 depuis quelques centaines de millions d’ann\u00e9es et les odonates s’adaptent et survivent sans trop de difficult\u00e9s apparentes \u00e0 l’extinction de certains de leurs contemporains d’autrefois comme les dinosaures.
Les m\u00e2les doivent ainsi remplir leur v\u00e9sicule s\u00e9minale, que l’on voit tr\u00e8s bien ci-dessus en arri\u00e8re de son pseudo p\u00e9nis, en faisant en sorte que l’extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 de l’abdomen s’accole au 2\u00b0 segment abdominal, ou plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment que son pore g\u00e9nital sous S9 s’abouche \u00e0 la valve de son pseudo p\u00e9nis.
Pour simplifier, il est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 dans le document qui r\u00e9git cet exercice que la v\u00e9sicule doit \u00eatre remplie de pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence quand la femelle est d\u00e9j\u00e0 captur\u00e9e ! Heureusement la man\u0153uvre ne dure que quelques fractions de secondes ou quelques secondes selon les esp\u00e8ces, et l’accouplement peut avoir lieu aussit\u00f4t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
