– Un Platycnemis pennipes aberrant –
Sur les bords du Tarn, j’avais au moins 2 objectifs ; faire des photos de Trithemis annulata mais aussi de Platycnemis latipes car c’est une esp\u00e8ce que j’ai peu vue puisqu’elle n’est pas pr\u00e9sente dans ma r\u00e9gion.
Aussi, quand j’ai fait cette photo (et d’autres que j’ai malheureusement supprim\u00e9es) je n’ai pas pens\u00e9 \u00e0 Platycnemis pennipes, les pattes m’en avaient spontan\u00e9ment dissuad\u00e9. Ce n’est qu’il y a quelques jours, revenant sur mes photos de P. latipes, que je me suis aper\u00e7u de mon erreur assez grossi\u00e8re ; la face dorsale de l’abdomen est parcouru de noir sur toute sa longueur et non uniquement sur les derniers segments.
J’ai donc essay\u00e9 de mieux voir les appendices anaux pour avoir une certitude\u00a0:

Et il n’y a aucun doute, en cliquant sur la photo, on distingue le lobe sup\u00e9rieur du cerco\u00efde droit tr\u00e8s pr\u00e8s de son extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 alors que le lobe sup\u00e9rieur de P. latipes en est nettement plus \u00e9loign\u00e9.
Mais les pattes ! Trop larges pour P. pennipes. De plus, le tibia post\u00e9rieur ne montre aucune ligne sombre sur sa cr\u00eate m\u00e9diane, le tibia moyen juste une \u00e9bauche de ligne, exactement ce que l’on observe pour P. latipes. M\u00eame la ligne noire du tibia ant\u00e9rieur n’est pas compl\u00e8te.
On remarque \u00e9galement que les ailes sont courtes et n’atteignent pas le 7\u00b0 segment abdominal, ce qui est \u00e9galement un caract\u00e8re de P. latipes ; ce n’est pas un crit\u00e8re d’identification absolu, mais il est rare que les ailes atteignent ce segment (je n’ai pas de telles photos !) alors que les ailes de P. pennipes, plus longues d\u00e9bordent presque toujours sur ce segment (je n’ai qu’une seule photo montrant l’inverse, sur environ 200 sujets).

Que peut-on en conclure ? Rien sans doute…
Les hybridations de Platycnemis pennipes et latipes ne sont pas connues, il n’y en a aucune trace dans la litt\u00e9rature.
Un simple accident g\u00e9n\u00e9tique qui ferait tomber ce sujet pile dans la case P. latipes ?
Un ami s’amuse \u00e0 supposer que ces 2 Platycnemis ont un anc\u00eatre commun (ce qui est certainement exact, mais je ne connais pas la phylog\u00e9nie des Platycnemis) ou qu’elles ne se sont s\u00e9par\u00e9es que r\u00e9cemment et que d’une fa\u00e7on ou d’une autre, le caract\u00e8re \u00ab\u00a0pattes larges non marqu\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb suppos\u00e9 r\u00e9cessif serait ici r\u00e9apparu pour une raison quelconque. Et pourquoi pas ?\u00a0\u00a0 \ud83d\ude0e\u00a0
