Chlorogomphus auratus (Chlorogomphidae), si je me base sur les mesures de la femelle d\u00e9crite en 1910 par Martin, doit mesurer autour de 85 mm, un des g\u00e9ants de la for\u00eat. Nous l’avons observ\u00e9 patrouillant le long d’une route de montagne \u00e0 Ba Vi, \u00e0 883 m d’altitude, le 7 juin 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On note qu’il porte des taches sombres au bout des ailes mais ce qu’on lit des Chlorogomphus femelles est beaucoup plus spectaculaire; tous les observateurs sont \u00e9merveill\u00e9s par leur veination dor\u00e9e, et c’est la raison pour laquelle Martin a donn\u00e9 ce nom de genre  \u00e0 cette esp\u00e8ce, la d\u00e9crivant ainsi, \u00ab\u00a0Esp\u00e8ce absolument remarquable par la coloration de ses ailes d’un safran dor\u00e9…\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deux mois et demi apr\u00e8s avoir r\u00e9dig\u00e9 cet article, j’ai d\u00e9couvert une femelle Chlorogomphus auratus dans les photos que je n’\u00e9tais pas parvenu tout de suite \u00e0 identifier. Malheureusement, la photo que j’en ai faite le 6 juin 2018 \u00e0 Cao Bang ne lui rend pas vraiment hommage, m\u00eame si on distingue ses ailes ambr\u00e9es et la tache plus marqu\u00e9e que celle du m\u00e2le, \u00e0 l’apex des ailes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est un h\u00f4te des rivi\u00e8res foresti\u00e8res et s’il a d’abord \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit au Tonkin (nord du Vietnam) il est aussi pr\u00e9sent en Chine, dans la province du Yunnan et au Laos, soit les deux pays les plus proches de Ba Vi.
