Le 15 septembre 2018 mon \u00e9pouse m’a signal\u00e9 le comportement bizarre d’une libellule devant la maison. Elle montrait un parcours erratique se posant \u00e0 peine une seconde sur l’herbe ou les gravillons, pour aussit\u00f4t red\u00e9coller, monter \u00e0 2 ou 3 m\u00e8tres parfois avant de retomber. Tout cela \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s rapide et impossible \u00e0 identifier depuis la maison.
J’ai pu m’approcher et surprendre cette pauvre Aeschne bleue pos\u00e9 sur le dos…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son abdomen \u00e9tait amput\u00e9 au niveau du 3\u00b0 segment rendant le vol impossible en raison du d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre induit.
Je me suis alors souvenu que 48 heures auparavant vers 7 heures 30 j’avais eu la surprise d’entendre puis de voir une libellule se cogner au moins 5 ou 6 fois dans une baie vitr\u00e9e du salon, puis dans une autre. J’avais alors ouvert les 2 baies compl\u00e8tement afin d’essayer de la laisser rentrer et de l’identifier. Je ne l’avais pas revue et je n’avais surtout pas cherch\u00e9 par terre…
J’avais \u00e9t\u00e9 surpris par le comportement parce qu’il arrive que les libellules se heurtent dans les baies vitr\u00e9es mais elles ne recommencent pas. Surpris aussi par le fait qu’une libellule \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 active \u00e0 cette heure alors qu’il faisait certes beau mais \u00e0 peine 12\u2009\u00b0c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme elle ne bougeait plus je me suis d\u00e9cid\u00e9 \u00e0 la capturer pour essayer de comprendre ce qu’il lui \u00e9tait arriv\u00e9. J’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tonn\u00e9 de constater que ce qui restait de l’abdomen semblait un peu repli\u00e9 sur lui-m\u00eame et paraissait en quelque sorte cicatris\u00e9<\/em>. Pour compl\u00e9ter l’inventaire, il lui manquait 3 pattes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est donc vraisemblablement une libellule encore jeune, mais mature de par sa coloration qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 victime d’un pr\u00e9dateur et a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 s’en d\u00e9gager. Ce qui est \u00e9tonnant est qu’elle ait r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 survivre ainsi au moins 48 heures sans se nourrir et \u00e0 la merci du moindre pr\u00e9dateur.

Je me suis r\u00e9solu \u00e0 la sacrifier et j’ai tout r\u00e9cemment essay\u00e9 de refaire des photos de son abdomen ; malheureusement la cuticule s’est d\u00e9grad\u00e9e et les photos ne permettent pas de comprendre mieux comme est repli\u00e9 son abdomen. Cette photo permet simplement d’apercevoir un des hamuli<\/a>, ces crochets dans la partie toute ant\u00e9rieure de la fosse g\u00e9nitale qui verrouillent les pi\u00e8ces g\u00e9nitales femelles lors de l’accouplement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
