Trithemis annulata m\u00e2le \u00e9mergent, Castelnau de Montmiral (France-81), 21\/06\/2021<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Il est 11 heures 30 quand je d\u00e9couvre ce tr\u00e8s jeune m\u00e2le Trithemis annulata dans une touffe de joncs, au bord d’un \u00e9tang de la base de loisirs de V\u00e9re-Gr\u00e9signe, malheureusement un peu abrit\u00e9 du soleil par un aulne. C’est peut-\u00eatre d’ailleurs cette localisation d’\u00e9mergence, l’absence de soleil et de chaleur qui font qu’il n’a pas encore d\u00e9coll\u00e9. Car il est tout jeune, de la nuit certainement et son vol inaugural approche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme toujours chez les Libellulidae la couleur des sujets \u00e9mergents ou immatures est tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rente de celle des sujets adultes et il lui faudra quelques jours de maturation \u00e0 distance de l’\u00e9tang avant de justifier son nom vernaculaire de Trithemis pourpr\u00e9.
Mais m\u00eame ainsi il est difficile \u00e0 confondre avec un autre de nos Libellulidae ; il partage la base bleue de ses yeux avec Sympetrum fonscolombii ou Crocothemis erythraea, mais ses pattes toutes noires et son motif thoracique lat\u00e9ral bien particulier (le m\u00eame que celui des femelles…) le rendent unique.
Je ne connais pas le crit\u00e8re de choix qui a impos\u00e9 \u00e0 cette larve d’\u00e9merger ici, mais sur l’ensemble de la base de loisirs, plusieurs \u00e9tangs et sans doute plus de 2 kilom\u00e8tres de berges, les Trithemis adultes et celui-ci, avaient choisi une unique longueur de rive d’une douzaine de m\u00e8tres pour se poster. Je n’en ai trouv\u00e9 nulle part ailleurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
