C’est la premi\u00e8re fois, deux s\u00e9jours dans le nord, un autre surtout au sud, que je rencontre Acisoma panorpoides au Vietnam ; j’avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 eu la chance de rencontrer cet extraordinaire odonate (par son abdomen entre autres) au Cambodge, au Sri Lanka et en Malaisie. C’est dire si son aire de distribution est \u00e9tendue puisqu’elle est aussi pr\u00e9sente du N\u00e9pal \u00e0 Ta\u00efwan et en Indon\u00e9sie.

Cette aire de r\u00e9partition \u00e9tait encore plus large avant que l’on s\u2019aper\u00e7oive assez r\u00e9cemment que les esp\u00e8ces africaines devaient \u00eatre s\u00e9par\u00e9es et deviennent plusieurs autres esp\u00e8ces valides, dont une que j’ai rencontr\u00e9e en Afrique du Sud, A. variegatum<\/a>.
On le citait encore en Alg\u00e9rie en 2007 dans le Guide des Libellules de France et D’Europe, Dijkstra et Lewington, guide qui reste l’un des tout meilleur, et qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 longtemps mon livre de chevet :). C’est en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 A. inflatum que l’on rencontre en Alg\u00e9rie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il est minuscule et mesure 27 \u00e0 29 mm. Nous l’avons rencontr\u00e9 une fois sur une ancienne mare de pisciculture presque exond\u00e9e, une autre fois pr\u00e8s d’une rizi\u00e8re, des aires \u00e9galement ouvertes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/span>
Acisoma est petit genre qui contient 6 esp\u00e8ces depuis 2016 et dont l’\u00e9tymologie est int\u00e9ressante\u00a0:\u00a0Acisoma, du grec akis<\/em> pour aiguille, fl\u00e8che<\/em> et du grec s\u00f4ma<\/em> pour corps<\/em>,\u00a0en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la forme dilat\u00e9e des premiers segments abdominaux et effil\u00e9e des derniers.
Panorpo\u00efdes, du grec\u00a0oides<\/em>,\u00a0qui ressemble \u00e0, en forme de\u2026<\/em>\u00a0et de Panorpa. Panorpa est un genre de l’ordre des m\u00e9copt\u00e8res appel\u00e9 aussi \u00ab\u00a0Mouche scorpion\u00a0\u00bb en raison de la forme de l’abdomen termin\u00e9 par une sorte de dard. L’abdomen de notre odonate ressemble ainsi \u00e0 celui de cet insecte.
