Les d\u00e9butants ont parfois du mal \u00e0 s\u00e9parer les femelles Onychogomphus des autres Gomphidae, elles n’ont pas comme les m\u00e2les des appendices anaux distinctifs et \u00e9vidents.
Pourtant, les motifs que les femelles Onychogomphus sp. portent sur l’abdomen sont facilement reconnaissables et distinctifs, et les s\u00e9parent de tous les autres Gomphidae de France continentale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces motifs jaunes, tr\u00e8s larges et \u00e9tendus lat\u00e9ralement \u00e0 la base des segments se poursuivent par une forme ovale vers l’apex.
Il n’y a que la forme des motifs d’Ophiogomphus cecilia qui s’en rapprochent un peu ; ils sont cependant plus \u00e9troits, form\u00e9s plut\u00f4t de 3 parties et non 2, et cette esp\u00e8ce n’a pas d’interruption de la coloration jaune sur S8 et S9. Sa coloration verte \u00e9carte tout risque de confusion.

Pour tous les autres Gomphidae la ligne jaune dorsale est beaucoup plus \u00e9troite et discr\u00e8te (et il n’y a que pour Gomphus vulgatissimus o\u00f9 elle est interrompue sur S8 et S9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
