C’est le plus haut lac du Jura, le lac de Lamoura<\/a>, qui m’a donn\u00e9 la possibilit\u00e9 de photographier le Sympetrum vulgaire dans de bonnes conditions, des conditions qui permettent de bien observer les crit\u00e8res d’identification qui le s\u00e9parent des autres Sympetrum.
L’association des pattes noires ray\u00e9es post\u00e9rieurement d’une bande claire (jaune ou rouge\u00e2tre), de fortes larmes noires sous les yeux et d’un thorax \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 la Sympetrum striolatum\u00a0\u00bb en beaucoup plus terne et moins contrast\u00e9 doit suffire \u00e0 l’identification de Sympetrum vulgatum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si on le compare justement avec S. striolatum<\/a> : ce dernier n’a pas de larme sous les yeux, mais un thorax montrant une nette alternance rouge\/jaune\/rouge et ses insertions alaires post\u00e9rieures<\/a> ne sont pas rouges (dernier d\u00e9tail tr\u00e8s utile pour identifier le sujet ci-dessus, m\u00eame si je n’ai pas rencontr\u00e9 S. striolatum dans le Jura).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si on le compare \u00e0 S. meridionale<\/a> : le sujet ci-dessus, pour ses pattes claires peut y faire penser, mais ce Sympetrum que je n’ai pas rencontr\u00e9 non plus durant cette prospection n’a pas de larme sous les yeux, et le fameux point qu’il pr\u00e9sente sur le thorax ou l’absence de marques noires sur S8-S9 l’\u00e9limine facilement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour ses pattes ray\u00e9es d’une bande claire et ses larmes sous les yeux S. fonscolombii<\/a> peut tenter de faire illusion. Mais la base bleue<\/strong> des yeux est absente pour S. vulgatum, la coloration rouge des veines principales tr\u00e8s limit\u00e9e, les pt\u00e9rostigmas ne pr\u00e9sentent pas de forte marges noires et les marques sur la face sup\u00e9rieure (et lat\u00e9rale) de S8-S9 sont plus discr\u00e8tes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si on ne voit pas correctement les pattes<\/em>, toutes noires pour S. sanguineum<\/a> (ce qui le disqualifie instantan\u00e9ment) la ressemblance peut \u00eatre troublante, d’autant qu’il \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent sur les sites ou j’ai rencontr\u00e9 S. vulgatum. S. sanguineum montre \u00e9galement une larme sous les yeux, toutes ses insertions alaires sont rouges aussi, mais son abdomen est nettement plus dilat\u00e9 distalement, il est rouge tr\u00e8s vif (S. vulgatum est rouge brique, plus proche de S. striolatum ou de S. meridionale) avec un thorax brun parfois marqu\u00e9 de jaune dans ses parties inf\u00e9rieures quand il n’est pas trop vieux et montre en principe une tache alaire basale ambr\u00e9e sur l’aile post\u00e9rieure.
Je dois reconna\u00eetre que pour son thorax, \u00e0 distance, S. sanguineum m’a pos\u00e9 des probl\u00e8mes pour les sujets bien matures qui perdent la coloration claire sur les faces lat\u00e9rales du thorax.
L’autre Sympetrum pr\u00e9sent sur ces lacs jurassiens \u00e9tait S. danae dont l’habitus totalement diff\u00e9rent ne pr\u00e9sente aucun risque de confusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un dernier Sympetrum que l’on rencontre \u00e9ventuellement en altitude exhibe des pattes ray\u00e9es de jaune, S. flaveolum<\/a>, mais ses larges taches alaires ambr\u00e9es sont immanquables.
Enfin S. depressiusculum<\/a> avec ses larmes noires et S. pedemontanum<\/a> ont les pattes noires : le premier est tr\u00e8s rare et montre des triangles noirs caract\u00e9ristiques sur l’abdomen. Le second porte de magnifiques bandes alaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
