Bornéo, Sarawak - Telosticta dupophila (Lieftinck, 1933)

The genus Telosticta (Platystictidae) was created in 2012 (1) and Telosticta dupophila (Drepanosticta dupophila for Lieftinck (2)) is part of the T. feronia group, which is its type species (Drepanosticta feronia for the same author). According to Lieftinck, it is very close to it, but still shows notable coloration differences on the last segments. Furthermore,

Bornéo, Sarawak - Drepanosticta rufostigma (Selys, 1886)

Drepanosticta rufostigma (Platystictidae) was described by Selys (under the genus Platysticta) in his synopsis of the Platystictinae of Borneo (1).There are at least 14 Drepanosticta in Sarawak (2), yet it is the only one we encountered. We shouldn't kid ourselves; Platystictidae are a very difficult family in Asia (and elsewhere) for amateurs who discover them,

Bornéo, Sarawak - Ischnura senegalensis (Rambur, 1842)

Ischnura senegalensis Sarawak.

Borneo, Sarawak - Heliocypha biseriata (Selys, 1859)

Heliocypha biseriata, Chlorocyphidae, is part of a genus containing nine spectacular species that, on their own, are worth the trip! This is the third one I have encountered after H. perforata and H. biforata (very similar...), but other members of the Chlorocyphidae family are also closely related and equally spectacular, such as Aristocypha fenestrella, here
